Polo Shirts the Options are mind boggling !

As an embroiderer of uniforms and workwear we ( T King Associates frequently) get asked what sort of polo would you recommend and it is not easy to give a simple answer such as just a brand name as there are so many.

Some examples of brands are  Russell, Fruit of the Loom ,Kustom Kit ,Hanes ,Henbury ,AWD ,Tombo, Gildan ,Sol , ,B&C , SG , Stormtech , to name but a few !

We can supply all of these brands and they are all very good brand but often things come down to simple personal preferences of  - a brand people know and trust already – what the use is for the shirt –colour range – type of decoration  and of course cost.

Probably the most well-known brand is Fruit of the Loom sometimes a  bit like Marmite  love it or hate it but certainly its very popular in trade and retail giving great value for money.

Let’s take this one brand for the moment and have a look at it as an example for embroidery or print and it does not present any particular problems for these types of decoration.

The Fruit of the Loom range has styles for workwear through to school wear with styles to suit each budget and requirement.

Designed for men ladies and kids the brands polo’s fit into three categories 65/35 Polo’s ,Premium Polo’s and their Original Polo.

The Mens ,Ladyfit ,and Kids 65/35 are made from easy-care 65% polyester & 35%  cotton. Designed for work or school they can be washed at 60C ,dry quickly and require minimal ironing.

Heading up Fruit of the Loom’s range of Premium Polo’s is their new Lady-Fit Premium Polo. Created for leisure and corporate wear these styles are made from 100% cotton  (170/180gsm) double pique fabric.

The Lady- Fit has feminine shaped side seams with side vents, a two button narrow placket and attractive 1 x 1 rib cuffs. Another new Premium style is the Men’s Tipped Polo ,ideal for golf and sporting events ,it has bold double stripe tipping on the collar and sleeve cuffs and a 3 button placket for a smarter look.

Last but not least is the Screen Stars Original Polo perfect for customers on a budget without compromising quality. Made from 100% cotton (170/180 gsm) this polo has a traditional two button collar and open cuffs  and hem with twin needle stitching.

That’s only one brand but it does fit the bill for most of the people most of the time so Fruit of the Loom is a good place to start when looking at polo shirts for embroidery or print but its only one of many.
